Mark Nicholaeff

From 1980 to 1983, Mark worked with an international accounting firm in Toronto, Canada. Mark attained the position of Assistant Manager and was responsible for the conduct of significant company audits principally in the construction, real estate and publishing fields.

In 1983, Mark obtained his professional Chartered Accountancy qualification in Canada. 

In July 1989, Mark joined Haines Norton, Sydney, as Senior Audit Manager and became responsible for the firm’s major audits and in 1991, he became an Audit Partner and has overseen the increased size and range of services of the audit division. 

A Board Director of UHY International Limited, which manages the international UHY network.

Mark manages the Audit and Assurance division in Sydney with clients listed on the ASX, New York, NASDAQ, Singapore, and Malaysian stock exchanges. Clients range in size from multibillion dollar turnover and assets to small private entities with less than $10million in turnover.

Professional Experience

Mark has over 20 years’ experience in many industries including mining, investment, manufacturing, retail, life and general insurance, agriculture, funds management, import and export, clubs, transport, construction, property development, superannuation, publishing, professional services, unions, biotech, financial instruments, shipping, hospitality and lending.

Mark’s experience includes financial due diligence for acquisitions, fraud and solvency investigations, internal audit, efficiency and effectiveness reviews and valuations. Mark is licensed by ASIC to provide Independent Expert Reports for listing companies and to provide “fair and reasonable"? valuation reports.

Mark also provides advice to companies and has been involved in company turnarounds.

Currently Mark is the chairman of the Powerhouse Museum finance and audit committees.
